Review “Plunging into a subject without wearing blinders is an engaging investigative method, and McGinniss, as he always manages to do, pushes the story forward in momentum while continuing to link new material with bits of information from past experiences and interviews. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.”— Seattle Post-Intelligencer From the Hardcover edition.

A Welcome Alternative

Just a short while before starting this wonderful book I was "reading" Sarah's latest book (listening to it while driving). Even before the Introduction was completed I found myself angrily shouting vile epithets at the dashboard of my car where the "noise" was filtering through the car speakers. This book was such a relief in it's contrast.

The writing style is pleasant and free flowing and helped entertain me at every turn.

Many of the complaints leveled by the talking heads at Fox (and elsewhere) are that this book doesn't provide attribution often enough when retelling stories about Sarah's fabled past. I'll agree that this would have given the book more credibility but considering the vicious nature of Sarah, her family and friends, I can understand the reluctance of some people to go on the record with their comments. This doesn't make the comments any less true, though.

There was enough information contained in this book that had Sarah actually tried to run for President, it could be the bible for attack ads throughout the campaign. At a time when attribution would have been necessary, I have no doubt that enterprising reporters and campaign researchers could easily have found enough attribution to be able to bring these stories to the public where they could not be defended except by the blinder wearing zealots and true believers.

Perhaps this book played a role in Sarah's decision to stick to the new family business of raking in the megabucks with her speaking and appearance fees instead of running for office (so she could quit and go back on the circuit demanding a higher set of fees).

What begs the question after reading this book is how John McCain's people could have missed all of this when they were vetting Sarah to be his running mate in '08. It begs the question about his own qualifications if he thought Sarah should be a heartbeat away from the Presidency.

One thing I found interesting in this `brief' book of 9 discs is that with all of the stories McGinness told us, he never even brought up `the bridge to nowhere'. That, by itself, could have been a whole new disc.

The biggest problem with this book is that now that I've finished it I have this huge hole in my life where the books I've started since this one pale in comparison.

Sarah Palin: A preparation towards Donald Trump

It was the first time in my life to witness a person who was ignorant, unaware and imbecile running for a Mayor ( Let alone the vice presidency). I always wondered. And then came Trump!
