The Story of Martin Luther King Jr.: A Biography Book for New Readers (The Story Of: A Biography Series for New Readers)

I was afraid this wouldn’t hold my 6.5 year old’s interest for long but I was wrong. We read a chapter every night (they’re pretty short) and he usually asks me to read more. It’s a bit advanced for his reading level so I read it to him. We’ve had some great discussions around segregation and civil rights. I’m so happy I was able to find a book that introduces him to these big topics at such an early age. He is also interested in learning more about the presidents now since JFK is mentioned in the book. We are on the last chapter now and he wants to buy more in the series (we just bought Barack Obama and are excited to read that one next)!!

Bought it to read to my 5 year old for black history month & she loved it. She even walks around telling people about Marting Luther King Jr & she's even told me more than once that she wants to read it again. Very educational

My Level 2 reader loves these books (we have 4-5). The chapters are the perfect length to hold his interest and the drawings capture his attention. We also love the extras along the way and the quiz at the end. Great series!

These are the best books. My 8-year old and I can't get enough. With libraries closed, we are purchasing all of them.

This is a great book for any classroom.

Excellent read for the littles....My grands are 6, 4, & 2 and they love when their mommy read them these stories and seeing that it doesn't matter what color your skin is if you dream big and work hard ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!!!

My 7 y/o loves this series of biographies. We read together and are always excited when we get to the “Jump into the think tank” sections. We both answer the questions honestly and it’s wonderful to get inside each other’s minds!

I love the whole line of these particular books! It's been easy for my second grader to read and has quizzes at the end! Good Job!

This is tue second book in this series that I have read. I find them very entertaining and educational. I learned facts about Martin Luther King Jr that i had not previously known.. I love that it includes prompts to start a discussion. There is also a quiz at the end to test what you learned. I also enjoyed the section at the end that discusses the impact that martin later king Jr has made on the world as we know it.

This book is very easy for children to read. Has excellent story coverage with great details. I brought this for a 2nd grader.
