The Writer's Journey - 3rd edition: Mythic Structure for Writers

I bought the library binding format of this book. I already have the paperback edition and after a vigorous use of the material it has worn out quite badly. I'm a teacher of story telling and thought I needed the stronger version of this book. I've paid 2.5x the regular price and thought I'd be more than satisfied. On the contrary I came up with a standard book with a thicker binding, no stitching and/or no durable material of any kind. I'd do a much better job with some carton and glue. I don't have easy access to such books in my country, let alone the library formats for the books I repeatedly use. The site could at least show some informative picture.

Excellent primar source, from a successful icon. Well worth the time, even if you’re just exploring screen writing.

This should be in any storyteller's library. Full of practical advice on how to strengthen your story. The author has taken Joseph Campbell's 'The Hero's Journey' and turned Campbell's observations into incredibly useful advice for developing great stories. I read Campbell's work and found it annoying, but Vogel's take on Campbell's observations about archetypal stories is incredibly useful! Well worth the price I paid!
