Description

"Catechesis begins very early in life. The hearts and minds of our kids are being shaped by the media, models, and voices around them--for better or worse. Christian parents should try to surround their kids with resources for healthy spiritual formation. That's why I love the Baby Believer(R) series from Catechesis Books. It's never too early to teach theology to little ones!" --Brett McCracken, senior editor at The Gospel Coalition, author of The Wisdom Pyramid: Feeding Your Soul in a Post-Truth World "I'm a huge (full-grown) believer in the Baby Believer series. We know the Word of God does not return void. These books provide a wise, winsome, and creative way to begin sowing the seeds of biblical truth into the hearts and souls of our children. When the core concepts of the Christian proclamation are sown into us from an early age, those seeds will bear their fruit in the right season." --Timothy Dalrymple, president and CEO of Christianity Today "The Baby Believer series offers big theological truths to little hearts in a beautiful and simple way. They make great gifts for new moms!" --Emily Jensen and Laura Wifler, cofounders of Risen Motherhood “I’m a huge (full-grown) believer in the Baby Believer series. A new favorite kids resource!

Every book in this series is incredible, but this one is my favorite!

This book teaches children the alphabet while also teaching them deep and beautiful truths about God and his Word. As an adult, I was led to worship while reading it!

The book is beautifully illustrated, just like every other book in the series! My kids love it!

Theology-packed book

Such a great book! I didn’t really know how to share the gospel with my little one year old and this book does such a great job of getting the Christian vocabulary into his everyday life and getting me comfortable with explaining things to him.

Amazing addition to library!!!

‘What do I believe?’ It’s probably one of the first questions we ask of ourselves as children, though probably not in those words. We look for answers from a young age as our worldview forms. As Christians, our worldview comes from God’s word. Our hearts are transformed and minds are shaped by what God has revealed of himself through the Bible.

In “We Believe: An Alphabet Primer,” Danielle Hitchen gives scriptural backing to the major tenets of the Christian faith. What I love the most about the entire Baby Believer series is the commitment to use biblical language. She doesn’t skimp or shy away from using big theological words like: sin, repentance, forgiveness, crucifixion; and this book is right in step with the last. Our kids need to be familiar with biblical language and given the truth for their big questions. We need to know what ‘we believe.’ Each letter of the alphabet is paired with beautiful illustrations that will not only capture your kid’s interest, but also give visual explanation to the page. You will recognize lines from scripture, the Apostle’s creed and the Nicene creed. Danielle even gives background in church history and an explanation of Greek words.

I know these books are geared towards kids, but I find them very beneficial for me. These books give me ample opportunity: to share the gospel with my kids in an everyday kind of way, to answer their questions, to reflect on the goodness and glory of God, and to help me share the Bible as a seamless story from Genesis to Revelation.

You would be greatly blessed to pick this book up, as well as any of the other books in this series.

Wonderful addition to our collection.

This new addition to Baby Believer series is a hit! The We Believe Alphabet Primer is a wonderful christian introduction to the letters of alphabet and is absolutely beautiful. My children enjoyed the illustrations that accompanied each letter. Every letter is partnered with a different aspect of the christian faith, and has a correlated bible verse or line from Nicene and Apostles Creed.
I would recommend this book to any parent wanting to add to their child's book collection. I know this book will be in my church bag for my littlest to page through during the church service.
