Part of it came damaged.

I’m doing a school project on Wes Anderson and I was really excited to come across this book. It sucks that one of the pages is like this. It’s a brand new book. I’d get it if I got a used one, but I’m afraid this page won’t be able to last? I don’t have time to exchange this because of the time restriction for the project. I’m going to try and contact the seller about getting my money back for a damaged product.

A "Must Own" for Wes Anderson Fans

London-based author Ian Nathan has done it once again with "Wes Anderson: The Iconic Filmmaker and his Work," an unauthorized and unofficial biography of Wes Anderson, director of such films as "The Grand Budapest Hotel" and "The Royal Tenenbaums."

Nathan has previously authored books on the Coen Brothers, Ridley Scott, Tim Burton, and Quentin Tarantino and comes up once again with a sublimely packaged endeavor that is beautiful to look at, fun to read, informative, and assembled in such a way that it's a perfect book release as we enter the holiday season.

This is definitely a "must own" for any Wes Anderson fan.

This collection offers remarkable photography, an absolute essential given Anderson's own pristine lensing, and a detailed analysis of his films and even includes his upcoming film "The French Dispatch."

I sat down to start with this book, but once I started I could barely contain myself in continuing to turn page after page of this collection. It wasn't just the photos, though they are awesome, but Nathan's analysis and wordsmithing. Everything about this collection is simply top-notch and it's an engaging, entertaining, and incredibly immersive collection. Just like the films of Wes Anderson, you'll find yourself surrendering to it.

This can easily be a book that goes into a prized place on the shelf, though it would also work just fine as a table book. Right now, it sits openly on my table and for me it's not been the type of book I want to put away. I keep it close so I can keep looking at it again and again.

This is a great gift set for Anderson fans, movie buffs, and anyone who appreciates mighty fine arts writing!

Unauthorized yet still an indepth look at Wes Andersons journey through cinema

This is a really nice addition to my Wes Anderson collection of DVD's and books. This one is unauthorized but was written by a film journalist that has done extensive research and is clearly a fellow fan. The book is set up through the space of time. He begins with Wes Anderson's first full length film, Bottle Rocket and end with the (still unreleased) film, The French Dispatch.
The book gives a lot of focus to how may of the films came about, their early drawing board incarnations and where they ended up. I enjoy the many behind the scenes photos of both the celebrity friend cast and pictures of Wes Anderson himself on set in outtakes.
A fun detail is the center of the book has a fold out timeline that showcases the journey through the years with the illustration of train tracks leading from one film to another.
The book has an exterior hard slip box cover that has a Wes Anderson style design element, though the book has to slide into it backwards to fit properly. Is this a design decision or a flaw, it's unclear. Another issue I have is that my copy came with a dented page.
The book seems like a coffee table book by the highly designed cover, but I'm not certain how this would be displayed for a casual reader on a coffee table. It's going to take more time to sit and ready through all the wonderful details and this book might work better displayed on my book shelf when I'm not diving in for a read.

Extremely poor quality control

[[VIDEOID:ef628c14d1522798c1ac32c41114d06b]] I purchased this as a brand new item. I received it as an obvious return where labels have been removed because part of the adhesive and plastic were still stuck on it. there is also apparent damage to the box label at the bottom that is a big air bubble, and there are scuff marks all over the gift box.
I am so disappointed because my friend and I are such enchanted fans of Wes Anderson, and this is such a poor reflection of how to honor his work, not to mention very poor quality control.

Book arrived slightly damaged.

There is scuffing and slight tear on the top corners of the book. Seems like it is in pre-owned condition as opposed to new. Other than that I love it, not sure that it will be displayed on my coffee table but maybe a shelf instead due to damaged part.
