Description

"Gangsei's debut clearly benefits from her Washington, D.C. experience; although settings and time periods shift frequently, it's always easy to follow the swift-paced plot... There are refreshing multi-cultural elements... realistic instances of terrorism, and what feels like an insider's look at the White House."― Booklist "The real draw is the gripping intrigue, elements of which remain unresolved at the end, so readers who enjoy an edge-of-the-seat read with a real-world feel and human complexities can happily anticipate future adventures for Addie and Darrow."― BCCB "This thriller doesn't let up its unrelenting pace until the breathless conclusion... The writing is complex enough to satisfy more sophisticated YA readers yet fast-paced enough to keep the attention of reluctant readers... Gangsei's killer political novel is a must-read for those who enjoy a tight plot in their psychological thrillers." ― School Library Journal Accolades 2017 Lone Star Reading List (Texas), selection2018-2019 Iowa High School Book Award List, selection Jan Gangsei lives in Washington, D.C. with her family. She has a degree in political science and is a former newspaper reporter covering both politics and the police beat. Zero Day is her first novel.

It feels like I read half of a book and the rest ...

This book was a 5 until I finished it. I couldn't put it down.

SPOILER: The main character is irrational, and it irritates me. So much is left wide open and unconcluded. The book ends on a cliffhanger, and I was so anxious to buy the sequel only to find out...ITS A STANDALONE. It feels like I read half of a book and the rest was missing. So disappointing.

Good book, lame ending.

This was a fun book, well written with an engaging plot and characters. The lack of a sequel makes the book feel unfinished. The book was released in 2016, so don't expect one. I found the ending very frustrating.

Amazing

Zero Day was the best book I have read all month. It is a fantastic novel. If there are more books, be sure to read all of them. There was a lot of action.

Giant Spiders!

Lots of action, a good plot (traitors!) & a very creepy villain (giant man eating spiders!) keep this book interesting. Part of a series but works fine as a stand alone book.
A good read if you are looking for a decent horror novel.
