"Dylan Howard is the rare combination of cutting-edge journalist, true crime commentator, and relentless investigator. Howard passionately brings comprehensive and groundbreaking analysis to the most compelling mysteries of our time." — Dr. Phil McGraw, host of TV's #1 daytime talk show, Dr. Phil “The king of Hollywood scoops.” —xa0AdWeek “Dylan Howard is one of the finest journalists writing today. His depth and breadth of experience are second to none; he follows every intricate angle of axa0story and exposes the truth. As a former detective, I know firsthand the skills that make an exceptional investigator and Dylan has them in spades.” —Bo Dietl, former NYPD homicide detective who made over made over 1,400 felony arrestsxa0xa0xa0 “The go-to guy for authoritative showbiz news and analysis on cable and over-the air television.” —xa0Los Angeles Press Club As a man with unprecedented access to the facts and a reporter who is one of the most feared journalists in Hollywood, investigative reporter Dylan Howard has cracked open scandals that have brought down the careers of Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen, Hulk Hogan, Paula Dean, and numerous others. Howard’s sense for news saw him rise to become the undisputed most powerful gossip editor in the world, publishing dozens of salacious tabloid magazines each week, including Us Weekly , The National Enquirer , Star , In Touch , Life & Style , RadarOnline.com , and more. Described by the New Yorker magazine’s Jeffrey Toobin as “a tabloid prodigy” and AdWeek as “the king of Hollywood scoops,” Dylan also brought to light: the hate-fueled audiotapes of Oscar-winning actor/director Gibson blasting former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva; the scandal-plagued death of screen darling Farrah Fawcett; the naming of the mother of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s love child; the demise of star-on-the-rise politician Anthony Weiner; and the Tiger Woods sex scandal. He also broke the story of the A-list high-stakes poker scam that was later made into the Oscar-nominated film Molly’s Game . Most recently, Howard made a name for himself with a stunning exposé of Sheen that revealed Hollywood’s most unapologetic hedonist was HIV positive. It also was a story of extraordinary corruption, violence, lies, intimidation, death threats, and millions of dollars paid out in hush money—a story that he chronicled in a first-person essay for The Hollywood Reporter that AdWeek called “jaw dropping.” He also develops and executive produces premium unscripted television shows and podcasts, including last year's blockbuster podcast series "Fatal Voyage: The Mysterious Death of Natalie Wood” that garnered over 10 million downloads and 50 million media impressions worldwide. The series was named to Apple Podcasts' Most Downloaded New Shows of 2018 and was named a 2019 Webby Best Series honoree by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.In 2011, Howard was named Entertainment Journalist of the Year at the National Entertainment Journalism Awards, where the judges labelled him the "go-to guy for authoritative showbiz news and analysis on cable and over-the air television." Howard is also the author of Diana: Case Solved and currently resides in New York City.

Not Recommended!!!

BUYER BEWARE!!! I would not recommend this book. This book is clearly the work of an author trying to make some cash off Aaron Hernandez story. Among the many spelling errors, the facts are not 100% accurate. On Page 70 Chapter 8, the author states that Aaron and Bradly left the club with Aaron driving. Aaron eventually pulled over and shot Bradly. Had the author actually did his supposed research, he would know that Aaron was in the front passenger seat and Bradly was behind him, with 2 other people in the vehicle. This information was shared during the trial and in Bradley’s own account, so you don’t have to look far to find it. The other area’s state that Aaron bought a house in Plainville, MA when it was in North Attleborough, MA. Jonathan Hernandez also says in his book he went to California to visit his brother when finding him on the roof of the unit he was renting with a gun to his chin. According to this authors report, this occurred in Connecticut. In addition, the photos in this book are the result of an easy google image search. All this new evidence that the author discovered is not shown in photos which lead me to believe it is just false. To say their was a 4th letter contradicts the police report of inventory taken from Aaron’s cell at the time of his suicide. Being a person who followed each trial live, watched all interviews regarding and read books by Patterson, Jose Baez and Jonathan Hernandez (which I do highly recommend) this work from Dylan Howard is a disappointment. To say that he has discovered additional “facts” is just ludicrous. The additional information is as legitimate as Alexander Bradley testimony under oath and can only be taken as “rumor”. Don’t get me wrong, it is still interesting to hear what others who had been around him had to say. The phone conversations are disappointing as they say (inaudible) after every word making it basically worthless when reading in a book. And be weary the description says stories from those who knew Aaron the most, including his hired stripper, but then in the story states the stripper returned from payment and only discovered that Aaron Hernandez was an NFL player when he was taken to his basement where he feared for his life. Again, Mr. Dylan Howard is only looking for his pay day. I reached out the author in regards to the incorrect facts in this book. Mr. Howard opted to block me on Social Media than address the fabricated stories in his book.

Not worth the money

Some of the facts were wrong.I listened to the phone calls on Gladiator and this book gets the 40 minute visit wrong. It was Ryan not Kyle he spent all that time talking to.
Several times they referred to his number as
87! Wasn’t proofread very well at all. Information we’ve already read and heard.
Waste of money unless you haven’t read any other books. I would recommend any of the others over this.

No Fact Checking, Full of Theories, and Lack of Credibility

I have read and watched just about everything on Aaron Hernandez. As a fan of his and of the Patriots, his case perplexed me from the get-go up until the moment I heard of his suicide. This book is a great read - I read it in about 2 days and the writing was good albeit there were some grammatical and punctuation mistakes which were hard to believe were missed during the editing phase. Nevertheless, I was truly disappointed to see that there was some erroneous and false information contained within this book thereby reducing its credibility in my eyes. For example, the author refers to "Aunt Jennifer" when referencing a jailhouse phone call between Aaron and a relative. This was not an aunt but rather his cousin as evidenced during an audio played in the "Gladiator" podcast. Another falsehood was a reference to Aaron's fiancé, Shayanna Jenkins, only getting to see him for 5 minutes during a visitation with him. The author stated that the short amount of time for Shay was due to Aaron spending time during visitation with Kyle Kennedy. Not true! Again, as referenced in the podcast, Aaron's high school friend, Ryan, was the one visiting him for the duration of the visit. These are just two examples but there are many more inconsistencies in this book versus "Gladiator, " the award-winning Boston Globe podcast which was completely accurate.

Such facts as noted above are what made me have some doubt about the conspiracies and theories documented in this book. A lot of it is hearsay from a "male stripper" and "Q, the drug dealer." Understanding that the author's purpose in this book was to uncover secrets and hidden details, it's understandable why such stories came to light. But again - a lot of it is hearsay. Additionally, the theories behind why Aaron allegedly murdered Odin Lloyd are just that: theories. The author also continually refers to Aaron committing at least four murders when in fact Aaron was only convicted of one. Let's not forget the "not guilty" verdict in the Boston trial. The nail in the coffin for the author was that Michelle McPhee was quoted a lot throughout the book. She was (in my mind at least) one of the people I hold responsible for Aaron's suicide since she was making jokes on a local Boston radio show about him being gay. She has and always will be Aaron's biggest hater who is completely biased in all her opinions on anything and everything Aaron Hernandez. The fact that she was even interviewed for this book left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

To summarize, the book is a worthy read if you are a fan of true crime and this case in particular, but take it all in with a grain of salt because it's very hard to separate fact from fiction. Instead read "The Truth About Aaron" by Jonathan Hernandez, or "Unnecessary Roughness" by Jose Baez.

An In-Depth Look at A Tragic Figure

Dylan Howard does a masterful job in outlining the dark and tragic life of Aaron Hernandez. While many out there would see the NFL as a way out of a bad life, Hernandez, who had no sense of accountability or remorse, went in the opposite direction - drugs, drinking, sex, violence, and crime. We know the ending and the book does an outstanding job of showing how the events took place that lead up to it.

Hernandez wrote "John 3: 16" across his forehead prior to his suicide. If only he had believed it, his life would've gone in a better direction. So if you find yourself lost out there and in a dark place, look no further than the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Poorly written and numerous mistakes

So many mistakes in writing. I can over look that but many of the so called facts not correct. But it all comes down to it, Hernandez was a completely stupid criminal. He got away with too much before even becoming a pro football player. No consequences for anything. As for his so called fiancee Shay, I hope she can live with herself. I would certainly not tell her daughter by Hernandez what a criminal he truly was. She certainly saw more than she was willing to admit to.

Do not waste your money

This appears to be a money grab with the least possible effort. It could not possibly have been proof-read. There are so many wrong and missing words that it is almost impossible to read. There are periods in the middle of sentences. There are partial sentences that finish in the next paragraph. By allowing it to be published in this horrible condition, the authors actions appear to demonstrate either a lack of personal pride, or ability, or both. By accepting money for something in this condition, his actions appear to demonstrate a lack of integrity. Paying him money for these qualities is something I regret. Follow in my footsteps of regret at your own peril.

Brutal

Poorly written and shocking lack of proofreading/editing. An amateurish effort that is meandering, repetitive, and reeks of an attempt at a quick cash grab.
