The [man] doth protest too much?

I have no idea whose story is closer to the truth, since I wasn't there for any of it. But Curtis goes so out of his way to say over and over again how little Molly had to do with anything and how unimportant she was etc etc that it actually lends her more credibility. Curtis goes as far as to criticize the career of the actor who portrays the character based on him in the movie.

It's a relatively fun and engaging read, I just couldn't get over the fact that from the very beginning, it felt a lot more like I was reading the fiction (perhaps even deluded self-truths) of an alpha male who had his ego bruised by a woman than someone simply trying to set the record straight.
