Girl, Wash Your Face

I didn’t think I could love a book more than “Girl, Wash Your Face”. Challenge accepted, said Ms. Rachel Hollis, who did the narration herself for the audio edition of “Girl, Wash Your Face.” It is incredible. This woman poured her heart and soul into those pages to inspire readers of all kinds, especially women aspiring to be the very best versions of themselves. And the audio version? Even more so. You hear her heart, her emotion, her pain, her triumph. You hear Rachel IMPLORING you to be more—to use the gifts given by your Creator to transform every part of your life. And she tells you how she did just that. Rachel is a truth teller, a hand holder, and a tell-it-like-it-is pants kicker. She’s earnest and genuine and hearing her voice sharing pieces of her life at times literally brought me to tears. She’s relatable and funny and there’s just no way you won’t sit in your car a few minutes longer as you listen to your pal, Rach, talk it out with you as you set goals that will change your life.

Every woman should read. I wish I had read/listened to this as a teen actually. There is definitely something valuable for each person who reads this. I loved that the audio book is read by the author and I got to experience her personality as she read. It's full of humor, truth, and challenges. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!

I bought the CD & copied the mp3s to my phone so I could listen while getting things done. Love her open & authenticate way of sharing important life lessons. I believe book was also read by the author, which I love.

Seriously, those that have given a bad review are not being honest with themselves. This book reaches home on many levels. Rachel speaks to everyone and shares her own heart. I purchased the audio version to listen on my long commutes and so glad that I did! As a new mom, I find it hard to make time to read and am so glad I was able to listen to this book. I cant wait for the launch of her next.

With the internet and social media buzzing with praise I purchased this book with excitement. This book is read by the author and is a huge disappointment! Simply a story of someone's perfect life with lessons that have no more impact than a motivational poster in a break room. This author is vapid and devoid of any relatible life experience. The book itself is a testament to reading self help books and paraphrasing them with redundant quotes. There is zero originality in this flat and dispassionately written book. Do not purchase. I do not know where the hype came from, and I don't see where these positive reviews come from. This book is being returned and this author striken from any "to-read" lists.

The content is refreshing and hilarious. I like that the author is the one who read her own book. My drawback is the type of audio I chose. I picked the mp3 cd version. I was hoping I could find a newer portable cd player I could listen to around the house. I couldn’t find one I felt comfortable with spending any money after doing more research. So in the car it went and I worked great. Next time I will know to order a downloadable version for audio.

This is no good to me. CD arrived blank. What a sham.

After hearing several people make negative remarks, I decided I would not read this book but changed my mind, purchased and read the book in one setting. And for the life of me, I do not understand where all the negative thoughts were found in this book. I think it is wonderful. In fact, my only problem is that this book came so late in my life that there is not enough time or energy left in this body to do all I want to do. 😀. I think every mom should read this book to use it to empower their girls (or boys, for that matter). I grew up in a different age where it was difficult for women to find a place in a man’s world. No longer! Read this book and then read it again. Mix it with your faith and don’t be satisfied being a caterpillar - be what God intended you to be - a beautiful butterfly. Get your wings on, Girls, and fly.
