Description

Anna Dewdney was a teacher, mother, and enthusiastic proponent of reading aloud to children. She continually honed her skills as an artist and writer and published her first Llama Llama book in 2005. Her passion for creating extended to home and garden and she lovingly restored an 18th century farmhouse in southern Vermont. She wrote, painted, gardened, and lived there with her partner, Reed, her two daughters, two wirehaired pointing griffons, and one bulldog.xa0Anna passed away in 2016, but her spirit will live on in her books.

On point when helping kids with separation anxiety.

My 4yr old has bad anxiety heading off to preschool this year. I tried reassuring her the best I could but it just wasn’t “hitting home”
She was really able to relate to Llama Llama in the various scenarios in this book. Well written and perfect length to keep the attention of a little one.
I definitely recommend this one.

Love it but not fragile for toddlers who can tear/chew pages

I would have given 5 stars has it not used the word hate and was a board book instead of paper. toddler loves to eat/tear.pages. Otherwise lovely to tell kids about teachers school and has the overall llama llama.

Loves Mama, and School Too

Great message and helped us get ready for the first day of school (despite all the extra weirdness of 2020). It's ok to be sad, and it's OK to love school AND Mama.

GREAT BOOK!

I purchased it for 4yo great niece. She was very excited it was a Llama Llama book as she's heard other Llama Llama stories at preschool. I'm delighted with my purchase!

Cute story, pretty pictures

It's a good way to introduce the idea of going to school and a mama picking a child up afterward. I thought it was a little sad how long llama llama spent alone and not participating in activities. She eventually participated and had fun. Overall a good story.

If your preschooler is sad about leaving you, get this book!

My 3 year old son was hysterical every time I dropped him off at preschool. This book helped him (and I) process it. The illustrations are adorable, and it has a nice little story. Even now that he is feeling better, he still sometimes asks me to read it.

Mama mama loves llama llama

Great condition, no scratches or dings upon arrival. I got it to help my son handle separation anxiety upon returning to school. It sparked a really good discussion about his feelings.

Llama love

I just love reading these Llama Llama books to my nieces and nephews. They are so endearing because Little Llama’s emotional reactions are soooo real! My nephew gets completely enraptured. It’s adorable!
