Miss Kobayashi and Tohru showing their philosophical sides

Kanna's father has shown up and he wants Kanna to come back to the dragon realm. However, Miss Kobayashi realizes he wants Kanna for a possible war between Chaos and Harmony dragons, not parental love. This volume suggested a Batman reference, specifically a few stories in which Poison Ivy tried her hand at motherhood, usually proving she's a better super villain than a parent (would you want to be raised by a mom who gets her disciplinary ideas from what she's seen and experienced at Arkham?) Dad is supported by a mage named Azar, who proves a dangerous character. Miss Kobayashi finds she's going to have to employ the magic skills she's picked up in recent volumes and she and Tohru will travel to the dragon realm to head off a war. It is very interesting to see Miss Kobayashi ruminate on the state of her relationship with Kanna and how philosophical the usually hot-tempered Tohru has become over the years. Kanna also has some fine scenes. It's a great story and illustrates why Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid overtook Monster Musume as my favorite ongoing series.
