Dear reader, before you start this book I have a warning for you, just hand over your heart and panties to the giant ginger that is Frankie Hartigan and don’t fight it. You won’t be sorry. I know I wasn’t.

Warning given, I can now say that this is a book that EVERYONE who reads romance needs to read. I LOVED this story so much. I still think about it days after I finished it. Okay, I still get the giggles thinking about certain scenes too. No matter how much I think I’m done with Frankie and Lucy, they keep popping back into my mind.

If I could give this book unlimited stars I would. Ah-maz-ing. That’s they best way to describe this unbelievably awesome read from the equally awesome Avery Flynn who has ruined me with this book.

I loved everything about this book. I know I can’t give it the review it so deserves but I can try to convince you to part with your money for a book that for me, is hands down one of the funniest, hottest, sassiest, unputdownable books you will read this year.

If you love a feisty, sassy heroine then Lucy is the one for you. I loved her from the moment she appeared to the last page that left me goofy grinning for way longer than it should have because there is only one Lucy and it’s a total treat to get to know her in this story. I so want to be like her when I grow up.

Now in case you haven’t already guess, I loved Frankie something hard. Shocker I know. But seriously, just wait till you have the pleasure of learning more about the gentle giant as he goes on a road trip with Lucy to her high school reunion. I can’t say too much because I don’t want to give anything away, but if you don’t fall for Frankie you shouldn’t be reading romance.

Combine these two and watch out as sparks, sass, snark, clothes and best intentions fly out the window as one of Waterbury’s finest falls for the one woman he NEVER saw coming.

I can’t say read this book enough. If you haven’t read the first book where we first meet Lucy and Frankie in Butterface do so now. That said you can totally read this as stand-alone, but you really should read both because Avery Flynn is a genius when it comes to strong sassy heroines and the wonderful men who love them and this highlights why she is a must read author for me.

I can’t wait for the next book. I want it now!!!

This is the second in Avery Flynn’s The Hartigan’s series. This book centers on Frankie Hartigan, a 6’6” ginger firefighter. He is the quintessential man-whore, who is re-evaluating his life when forced to take vacation. He meets his match in Lucy Kavanaugh, a size 20, tough, sassy PR rep. This is a fun love story, where two flawed people make each other better. I cannot wait until the next book in the series. I was given an ARC of this book by the author for my honest review.

I loved this book! If you have a curve “out” where it’s supposed to go “in”, Lucy is your girl! Lustly and lovely, this is a super sweet story you are sure to love

Muffin Top is the second book in Avery Flynn's The Hartigan Series. Every book in this series can easily be read as standalone. The previous book is Butterface.
Before I start let me say real quick, I'm torn about the title. Yes he fits right in with the series, but Muffin Top brings hurtful memories from the past. Memories I'd rather forget.

Lucy Kavanagh is a big girl with a big mouth and spirit. At the first look she loves her body, only when you take a look under the surface you'll see the hurt and insecurities.
Frankie Hartigan is the oldest of 7 siblings. His siblings are Finn, Ford, Fallon, Felicia, Faith and Fiona. He's a firefighter by calling, hot, funny and a bit a commitment phobe. That's about to change when he rescues her from an overbearing knows it all. They hit it right off from the start, he agrees to be her one plus at the highschool reunion and together they're on a roadtrip into her past.
They grow close and develop feelings for each other. Put together a commitment phobe and a woman with a body awareness, wrapped up in a rom/com and you'll get a funny and witty read.

Avery Flynn delivers another hit in The Hartigans series with Muffin Top! Lucy Kavanaugh and Firefighter Frankie Hartigan are heating things up big time in this sexy and engaging romantic comedy. Avery doesn’t just give you the laughs, she gives you so much more. I highly recommend Muffin Top!

Muffin top is a fun romantic comedy that also delivers an emotional punch. The connection with the characters, through not only their interactions with each other but their inner monologue, had me riding the wave of emotions right along with them, feeling everything they did, from heartache to happiness.

Lucy and Frankie were both wonderful characters, but boy, these two were carrying around all sorts of baggage filled with insecurities and self-doubt. Lucy has always had issues with her self-image. She’s always been the big girl and, even though she has created a very successful life for herself as a crisis PR rep and seems to have put all her insecurities behind her, when faced with heading back home for her high school reunion…well, maybe she’s still got some issues she needs to deal with. She’s definitely a “best offense is a good defense” type of person, and that strategy has served her well as she has built her business and life in Harbor City.

Frankie is a bit of a man-whore. The women love him, he doesn’t promise them any more than he’s willing to give, and that has always worked for him…until now. When he offers to take Lucy to her high school reunion he sees the trip as a way for him to get away and reassess his dating life while giving Lucy the support she needs to get through her high school reunion. Spending time with Lucy convinces him of one thing – and that is that he wants Lucy. But Frankie is carrying his own suitcase full of self-doubt which keeps getting in the way of letting Lucy know how he feels.

These two…had me so frustrated at times because I couldn’t jump in and give them a good talking to because it was killing me watching Lucy doubt herself and then Frankie not being able to say the right things, which led to more self-doubt from Lucy. And Frankie, knowing his self-doubt was rooted in something that didn’t define who he was – phew, let’s just say these two made it tough! These two could definitely bring the heat, and I just loved all the playful banter between them. As a couple, these two had me smiling and laughing and enjoying every up and down that got them to their happy ever after.

Even though most of the book focuses on just Lucy and Frankie, the time spent with Lucy’s group of BFFs and the entire Hartigan clan adds so much to the story. Lucy needs the strength and support of her girls, while Frankie needs the tough love only a close-knit family like the Hartigans can give.

This is the second book in The Hartigans series but can be read as a stand-alone. There is a nice balance of romance, humor, and heat that keeps the story moving without feeling rushed. Avery Flynn has a knack for writing dialogue with sass and snark, and she doesn’t disappoint, but what I really loved in this one was the depth of emotion that was also felt along the way. Societal expectations, norms, and pressure are real to all of us, and that realness was written into the pages of this book without going over the top to create stereotypes or characters that were too shallow to relate to.

Another great read by Avery Flynn – do yourself a favor and put this on your TBR!

This is a story about excepting yourself for who you are and not worrying about what others see on the outside. I loved this story because it throws away the norm of what a romance heroine should look like and explores the science of attraction. Lucy is a big girl who has been through a lot regarding her weight and has become defensive rather than let anyone hurt her again. Frankie is a hot fireman who sees past Lucy's body to the person inside but has a tough time getting Lucy to believe him. This story is heartfelt, steamy and thought provoking. Every romance loving woman out there should grab this book and enjoy Frankie and Lucy's journey to loving themselves and loving each other.

I loved reading a book about a heroine who isn't a rail thin model and hero who is freman. It is heartwarming to read a story which parallels real life for most of us. Frankie is perfect for Lucy. Traveling to her high school reunion is a great way to get to know each other better. Avery Flynn writes laugh out loud, feel good rom-coms. A HEA with loads of fun before you get there.

Totally loving the Hartigans, especially Frankie. Lucy is awesome. I was so impressed with Lucy's character. Her inner voice was spot on!!! Frankie and his reputation are drool worthy but pale in comparison to his journey of self discovery that is beyond sexy and endearing. Worth the wait to read, but I was lucky to win an advanced copy. Now the wait begins for the next Hartigan book.
