Features & Highlights

  • Some men are born responsible, some men have responsibility thrust upon them. Henry John Edgar Thomas Pembrook, Prince of Wessco, just got the motherlode of all responsibility dumped in his regal lap. He’s not handling it well. Hoping to help her grandson to rise to the occasion, Queen Lenora agrees to give him "space"—but while the Queen’s away, the Prince will play. After a chance meeting with an American television producer, Henry finally makes a decision all on his own: Welcome to Matched: Royal Edition. A reality TV dating game show featuring twenty of the world's most beautiful blue bloods gathered in the same castle. Only one will win the diamond tiara, only one will capture the handsome prince’s heart. While Henry revels in the sexy, raunchy antics of the contestants as they fight, literally, for his affection, it’s the quiet, bespectacled girl in the corner—with the voice of an angel and a body that would tempt a saint—who catches his eye. The more Henry gets to know Sarah Mirabelle Zinnia Von Titebottum, the more enamored he becomes of her simple beauty, her strength, her kind spirit... and her naughty sense of humor. But Rome wasn’t built in a day—and irresponsible royals aren’t reformed overnight. As he endeavors to right his wrongs, old words take on whole new meanings for the dashing Prince. Words like, Duty, Honor and most of all—Love.

Disappointing but pretty entertaining

I was really excited about this one, but it was quite disappointing. This centered around a modern-day prince who signs onto a royal "The Bachelor"-type show but ends up falling for a shier, booknerd sister of one of the contestants. Could be interesting and different, right? Sadly, this was very much an insta-love and then subsequent melodrama situation. Not great.

Funny, inspiring, sweet, and sexy- I'm in love with Royally Matched!

Prince Henry has just been handed the biggest responsibility of his life- to become the future king. He however, has other things on his mind, such as how many girls he can get into his bed. When the possibility of getting tons of action falls into his lap, he jumps at the chance. What he doesn't expect though, is shy, sweet, and somewhat spunky Sarah. Sarah has no desire to be in the limelight, but acting as her sister's assistant on a royal dating show? Well, at least it allows her to read and not work for six weeks. What she doesn't expect is to fall for the star of the show himself.
Emma Chase is hilarious, I've been a huge fan of her books, but she's outdone herself with Royally Matched. I completely devoured this book in one sitting. The characters come alive, the jokes never miss, and the sex is downright sinful. This one is going in the memory books for sure!

A wallflower for Prince Henry

Prince Henry’s life has been upended. The former spare heir is now the Crown Prince of Wessco and doesn’t have a clue what to do with that which is fast leading him towards the mother of all breakdowns.
By Nicholas’ suggestion and in order to help him settle in his new role as future king, Queen Lenora sends him away, but when Henry starts feeling a bit abandoned, he decides reviving his party playboy persona is the way to go and what better way to start a party than enrolling himself for a dating reality TV show, right?
Lady Sarah Von Titebottum is a bespectacled, shy, librarian who is not interested in being part of the show, but when her mother conditions the participation of her sister Penelope, she agrees to go as the younger sister’s assistant as long as she can remain away from the cameras.
Once the cameras start rolling, Henry will discover reality TV is not so real and that everything he needs is the company of the one person who really gets him, the one hiding in the room with the reading nook.
I have to start by saying that Henry completely stole my heart. The wild prince is not only handsome and sexy, but he is kind, sweet, talented and romantic and, when he finally finds his way, he assumes his responsibilities as a man should: head on.

“Henry has never been one to rise to the occasion,” she states plainly. “He’s never needed to,” my brother insists. “He’s never been asked – not once in his whole life. Until now. And he will not only rise to the occasion…he will soar beyond it.”

Sarah on the other hand, is a dreamer, but as shy and fragile as she seems, she’s strong inside and has a great sense of humor.
As a couple Henry and Sarah are beyond perfect. They complement each other in the most amazing ways. While he shows her how to let go and free herself of her inhibitions, she grounds him and allows him to become the protector he must learn to be.

“Rock bottom changes you. Glimpsing heaven changes you more. I’ve touched perfection, I’ve felt its arms around me and though she’s slipped away, she’s out there, just beyond my reach. Waiting for me to get off my arse and get my shit together. To prove myself. To become the man…and the king…she deserves.”

This book is full of laugh out loud moments, but there are many gripping moments as well. Henry and Sarah are both somehow broken, but they make each other strong and find a love that will conquer any obstacle in the end.
Needless to say, I loved this book from beginning to end. The characters, the plot, and the way it’s written…the fairy tale of the little broken prince who is destined to become king.

"There are meetings in books that stand out, that alter the course of the story. Profound encounters between characters when one soul seems to say to the other, “There you are – I’ve been looking for you.”"

5 regal stars

Henry and Sarah's story is definitely a Top 2017 Favorite of mine!

This book, THIS BOOK, was brilliant and everything I could have ever wanted in a royal-inspired contemporary romance! Emma Chase did an unbelievably amazing job with Henry and Sarah’s story, and I loved it even more than Royally Screwed. Ms. Chase introduced me to the Royal-inspired romance genre, and I am never looking back.

Henry and Sarah were simply amazing and I absolutely fell head over heels in love with both of them. I adored their relationship with each other and thought it was easy and natural. Their banter with one another was always entertaining; sweet, humorous, and a little naughty (okay, a lot!) – but I loved reading every minute of it. Every single word and page of their story was memorable and I truly couldn’t have asked for anything better. I loved almost everything about it and was very happy that Ms. Chase told Henry and Sarah’s story from both of their POV. I really loved reading from both of their perspectives and getting to see what each of them were thinking and feeling throughout.

I loved and adored Henry and Sarah’s personalities. Henry constantly made me swoon, and what he did for Sarah towards the end of the book pushed my love for him way over the top. Sarah was so easy to like and relate to, and I loved that she had a passion for books just as much as I do. These two were some of my favorite characters of all time, and I will definitely be rereading their story again and again for a long time to come. I loved the conclusion and thought it was a perfect way to end Henry and Sarah’s story. I honestly can’t wait to read the next book in the Royally series, Royally Endowed!

Royally Matched was definitely a Top 2017 Favorite of mine!

Loved it!!!

Kings and Queens, Princes and Princesses, all things royal fascinate me. Royal romance are a favorite of mine probably because like most little girls I wanted to be a Princess.
If I were a Princess I would want to be just like Sarah. She is a simple person, quiet shy but hard working and extremely loyal to those she loves. The exact opposite of Henry.
Prince Henry is all play no business. He is a playboy, he is reckless and follows no one's rules, even the Queen's. Oh lord He is the future King!
So when things become overwhelming for him, the Queen gives Henry "space" to think about and learn what becoming King entails. What does Henry do while in his "space"? He signs on to star in a dating reality show, makes perfect sense! Again, Oh lord He is the future King!
The story that followed made me laugh and cry multiple times. It was a fairytale love story! Sarah and Henry were opposites that perfectly matched. They were unexpected but meant to be. He brought her out of her shell of shyness and she tamed the wild boy. I absolutely loved it!

Hello, Prince Henry!

***I received an ebook copy in exchange for an honest review***

If you loved Nicholas in Royally Screwed, then you’re going to fall apart completely for Henry in Royally Matched.

The Royals meets The Bachelor in this hilarious comedy that focuses on Prince Henry, who is in desperate need of lessons on how to be the leader of a country. When Nicholas swoops in and convinces their grandmother, Queen Lenora, to take some time away so that Henry has a chance to learn the ropes and prove himself, things get really entertaining. A producer for the show Matched (much similar to the Bachelor or Bachelorette) has already reached out to Henry, and he decides to take her up on her offer to film a royal version of the show right there at the castle. Henry sees this as a good idea, because it gives him the opportunity to sow his wild oats, and maybe even land himself a queen when all is said and done.

Enter in Sarah, the sister of one of the show’s contestants. She’s met Henry before, but is convinced that he won’t remember her. After all, she’s not exactly princess material (at least not in her own eyes). Sarah is shy and quiet, works in a library, and is hopelessly in love with one thing: books. She catches Henry’s eye within minutes of their reconnecting, and thus begins one of the best written slow burns I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying.

Emma nailed it with Henry’s character. He has a reputation (a well-deserved one) for being a noncommittal manwhore and a party animal, but there’s so much more to him than that. On the outside, he’s confident, to the point of becoming just arrogant enough that it’s sexy. On the inside he’s very much an insecure, vulnerable man. He finds comfort in Sarah that he’s never experienced before. He sees her as this beautiful and intelligent enigma of a woman. She makes him want to be a better man, and that’s exactly what we see happen over the course of the story. The harder he falls for Sarah, the more confident he becomes in himself, and the more appealing the thought of settling down with this woman and having a royal family becomes. I loved the fact that Emma didn’t make Henry change overnight. He didn’t fall all head-over-heels stupid in lust with Sarah and spend the next month ignoring the contestants on the show. He still noticed the other women’s beauty, thought about hooking up with them, and consistently doubted himself. But, those pieces of him began to fall away, slowly and surely, so by the time the book wraps up, Prince Henry was a totally different man.

I loved the plot line. It was fun and full of laugh-out-loud moments, that kept me glued to the pages. Some of the women on the show were absurdly unbelievable, but that’s what reality programming is all about, right? Whenever I’m looking for a solid story that balances comedy with romance, I know I can find that within the pages of an Emma Chase novel.

The UST between Sarah and Henry is off the charts! There’s a nice, slow burn here, as they do this little dance around one another, both pursuing (though unknowingly in Sarah’s case) the other, but hesitating to do so. All the build up made the moment they finally do come together all the more romantic and exciting.

I really enjoyed Sarah and her back story. She’s been through hell and back, and even though her past left her hardened around the edges, she’s come out as this amazing, caring, and kind-hearted person. She has so much to give, for the right person. And her conviction and dedication to helping others made me love her even more.

I could go on and on for another ten pages about how much I loved this book. It’s one of my favorite reads so far this year, and Henry has most definitely earned himself a spot on my Top Book Boyfriends of 2017 list. If you’re a long-time Emma Chase fan, you’re going to love Royally Matched. If you’re new to her words, you’re going to love Royally Matched. If you’re looking for something romantic, fun, and sexy to read, you’re going to love Royally Matched.

Get my drift?

Five stars to this novel!

Royally charming...

Oh Henry, Henry, Henry. Nichola’s actions really sent you into a tailspin didn’t they? Royally Matched is book two of Emma Chase’s Royally series and can be read as a standalone. This book was utterly charming. I stayed up until almost 3am reading this because I just did not want to put it down. I fell in love with Henry and Sarah.

Henry stole my heart. He’s funny, loyal, and protective. He’s also wild, arrogant and a bit of a player. And he never wanted to be king. Sarah is quiet, shy and a bookworm. I connected with her right away. She doesn’t want to be in the limelight…ever. The two of them are so good together. She calms him and he wilds her up. This was definitely more of a slow burn story, the sparks more like embers that burst into a wildfire. And I loved it. The character development was on point. Both Henry and Sarah have intricate backstories and are wonderfully complex characters. The secondary characters were great too. Some we’ve seen before, others were new but they all added to the story in some way, shape or form.

The premise of this book was great. Some of the situations that Henry found himself in had me giggling so hard. The drama is predictable but low key and low angst. This book had the perfect blend of humor, heart and heat. Chase is becoming one of my favorite go-to authors when I need a heartwarming story that will make me smile. This is definitely joining Royally Screwed on my re-read shelf. I cannot wait to see what else she comes up with.

I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
