Description

James Golden, under the pseudonym "Bo Snerdley" served as call screener, producer and engineer for the syndicated Rush Limbaugh radio talk show for 30 years. Since 2001 he has been a Producer/Executive for Premiere Networks (formerly Premiere Radio Networks), the largest radio syndication company in the United States. --This text refers to the hardcover edition.

Features & Highlights

  • What was it like to be a part of the supersonic ride on the Rush Limbaugh program, the highest-rated radio show in history that spanned 33 years and changed the American political conversation? James Golden, aka “Bo Snerdley,” was there from the beginning to the final, tearful episodes. As call screener, “Official Show Observer,” and friend of Rush, James shares the stories that grew an audience into tens of millions of devoted listeners. On the air or off, when Rush asked, “What do you think, Mr. Snerdley?” he meant it. James agreed, and disagreed, with Rush over the years, but they held the same values. “Rush’s legacy must be is framed truthfully and properly. The stories must not be lost. In fact, we need them now more than ever."

EULOGIES FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY

Like most who purchased this book (kindle), I expected more history than eulogy. The eulogies were far too many and way too long. Golden's tributes to anyone who ever helped, taught or assisted him (Golden) in his career belonged in a bibliography not as a long and detailed part of the book. Disappointing. Could have been great if Golden didn't write like a boy scout and HIS loving EVERYBODY got a little old

Rush is so proud of you

James, I had the honor of talking to you and Rush a half-dozen times or so - I was the guy who suggested to Rush he film his Gulf War movie in black and white, then make sure Ted Turner never got his hands on it.

Your book is fantastic, evoking so many memories - I'm getting choked-up just typing this - God Bless you and the rest of us as we set about carrying on this great man's legacy!

Learn background on the great one.

I'm a devoted fan. I was always a conservative, but I needed Rush to teach me what real conservatism is and help me explain to others what conservatism is and why it's important.

Essential if you listened to Rush. Would have benefitted from pictures.

James Golden describes his history and the history of the Rush Limbaugh show. Lots of quotes from Rush and viewers. Lots of behind the scenes descriptions. Essential for the Rush fan who misses the late, great broadcaster. James has an interesting history himself. Add to this the 'The Man Behind the Golden EIB Microphone' podcast and you have a great history of the Rush Limbaugh Show behind the scenes.

I do think it would have benefitted from pictures, both official and behind the scenes. I had the kindle and there were none.

Terrific

This book was entertaining, uplifting and a joy to read. I was afraid it would be like reading an obituary. I feel I know James Golden and why Rush loved him so much.

A nice tribute to Rush

Thank you Mr. Snerdley for writing this. No passing of a celebrity has hit me as hard as Rush's and I feel blessed for the twenty years that I've been able to listen to the show. It was nice to read his words, get a glimpse behind the scenes and learn the history of the EIB Network, along with your contributions and plans. RIP Rush, your contribution to our country is incalculable and lives on in everyone you have touched. We need to pay it forward.

A wonderful man

I loved hearing about James and his personal journey. He is something like a renaissance man. Highly skilled in a variety of talent areas. Knowledgeable. Compassionate. Capable.

Most important, he comes off as a very decent man. He is exactly as I thought he would be, based on how Rush described him. This is a beautiful tribute and one that Rush certainly would have approved of.
