James Golden, under the pseudonym "Bo Snerdley" served as call screener, producer and engineer for the syndicated Rush Limbaugh radio talk show for 30 years. Since 2001 he has been a Producer/Executive for Premiere Networks (formerly Premiere Radio Networks), the largest radio syndication company in the United States.
Features & Highlights
What was it like to be a part of the supersonic ride on the Rush Limbaugh program, the highest-rated radio show in history that spanned 33 years and changed the American political conversation? James Golden, aka “Bo Snerdley,” was there from the beginning to the final, tearful episodes. As call screener, “Official Show Observer,” and friend of Rush, James shares the stories that grew an audience into tens of millions of devoted listeners. On the air or off, when Rush asked, “What do you think, Mr. Snerdley?” he meant it. James agreed, and disagreed, with Rush over the years, but they held the same values. “Rush’s legacy must be is framed truthfully and properly. The stories must not be lost. In fact, we need them now more than ever."

More than I expected!
I was hoping for a wonderful tribute to Rush, but I was delighted to learn so much about the history of the program, the team, the author's background, and his views on issues of today! A beautiful book.

A great remembrance, he brings back so many memories of Rush
This is a great book that describes the relationship, hidden from view, of Rush Limbaugh and his great friend James Golden. These two men were best friends who kept each other on the razors edge with their views challenging each other, with their viewpoint and forcing each other to grow a stronger clearer view of what they said to each other. They were not opposites in their viewpoint, but James Golden got the PhD thesis from EIB, and he had to defend that thesis every day with Rush asking powerful questions. Sometimes, James made Rush refine his view, sometimes James had to refine his view. But, they kept each other razor sharp. Along the way they became the closest of friends. Two people from different backgrounds becoming the closest of friends, and in their lives they disproved the leftists Lies. James I am over half way through and this is a masterpiece. I am already looking forward to a second book.

Missing Rush
Book has arrived and I went ahead and gave the book to my Hubs early instead of waiting for Christmas. Numerous times a week he comments on missing Rush and wondering what his take would be on the current state of affairs. Thank you James for this book. It gives us a bit of Rush back while we miss him and continue to grieve.

Great book
"Mega-dittos" to James Golden on his insights and tribute to Rush. I could hear Rush's voice throughout the book, along with the bumper music! Yes, I even remember the call in #.
As a Rush listener for 30+ years, I highly recommend this book.
Please note: This book also provides background info on James Golden, which helps to explain why "Bo Snerdley" was an important member of the "highly overrated staff".
Thank you, James.

James Golden: the voice you didn't hear.
James Golden’s book isn’t quite what I expected: a book more about the Rush we didn’t know, personal stuff, behind the scenes anecdotes, i.e., "all Rush." While there was some of that, I was familiar with most of the stories Golden tells. The book is as much about James Golden as is it Rush, and that’s not a bad thing. After all, Bo Snerdley was a very big, essential part of Rush on the radio. We heard his name for decades, and yet few knew anything about him.
So, after initial disappointment, I got into the groove and began to like the book. I did learn new things about Rush, enjoyed reminiscing over what I already knew, and, in the process, got to know James Golden, aka, Bo Snerdley, via his honest, heartfelt book, written, no doubt, in his own voice.
As other reviewers complained, I missed having pictures; pictures of James and Rush; pictures of the staff, the guest hosts; early pictures of Rush in Sacramento and Kansas City, et cetera. There must have been a million great pictures to pick from. But then, Rush on the radio was sound, not pictures. I was conflicted about the “Show Notes” at the end of each chapter. While somewhat interesting to read caller comments, etc. some seemed designed as mere filler.
All said, “Rush on the Radio” was good and well worth the read. All fans miss Rush, his go-to, James Golden, most of all.

Receiving this book in perfect condition about my role model is a treasure.
Had no idea this book was being written. Learned about it when I ordered another. Bo Snerdley was a great sidekick and devoted employee. Few celebrities are blessed with his love and unending lifelong commitment. Truly a marvel to read.
