He froze, every neuron on high alert, and listened. Tap, tap, tap, tap , pause, tap, tap, tap . It was coming from his father’s office. His arms instinctively flexed, preparing for a fight. He moved swiftly and silently to the office door and listened to the incessant tapping. Dad’s calculator? He pushed the door open, and his body flooded with awareness at the sight of Mira sitting at the desk, her fingers flying over the calculator. Maybe this was his lucky night after all. Her hand flew to her chest. “Matt…?” His name came out all breathy. “You scared me. I had no idea you were in town.” Because I made a point of wanting to surprise you, although not exactly like this. “Sorry about that, Sunshine. I just got in a little while ago. I came to get a showerhead.” He walked into the small office, taking in the ledger on the desk, illuminated by his father’s ancient single-bulb lamp, and the family photos thumbtacked to the wall. He noticed a new photograph front and center, a picture of Hagen holding a fishing rod with a little sunfish dangling from the line. He knew how much Mira and Hagen meant to his father, but seeing Hagen’s photo among their family’s brought the full impact home. He shifted his gaze to Mira, and as the shock of his arrival wore off, a beautiful smile spread across her face. There it was, the brightness that had hooked him all those months ago. The sweet look of innocence and rebellious I-can-take-on-the-world confidence in her gorgeous eyes. She had no idea what she did to him. “Sunshine,” she whispered, and shook her head. “You can’t deny the way you light up everything around you.” He’d given her the nickname last summer because she had such a positive outlook on life. “You should see me before I have coffee in the mornings.” I’d like that more than you know. “A showerhead? Let me show you where they are.” She pushed to her feet, nearly bumping into his chest in the close quarters. Her chestnut hair tumbled sexily over her shoulders as she stood before him, one hand perched over his chest, the other reaching up to touch his cheek. “What happened?” Their attraction had been immediate and intense last summer and had only grown stronger with each subsequent visit―at least he knew it had for him. For months he’d buried any hope of exploring their connection beneath classes and research papers. Now, as she gazed into his eyes, all those heated memories came rushing back. “I was assaulted by the old one.” “Ouch.” She grimaced, and the spray of freckles on the bridge of her nose rose with the effort. He hadn’t been able to get that cute mannerism out of his head when he’d gone back to Princeton, and damn, did he like seeing it again. “You might need a stitch.” Her fingers lingered on his skin, warm and soft. He covered her hand with his, pressing it to his cheek. “It’s nothing, really.” She nibbled nervously on the corner of her mouth. “I’ll just…” She pointed out of the office, and her hand slid from beneath his. Her breasts brushed against his arm as she walked away, stirring more of that same dark attraction. There was no shortage of women vying for Matt’s attention. From coeds to faculty, he could have his pick back in Princeton, and the choices were just as plentiful here at the Cape. But the only woman he saw when he closed his eyes at night was heading down aisle seven of his father’s hardware store. Read more

True love is worth waiting for

As Seaside Summers comes to an end, I feel the need to not only pick a phrase that sums up Seaside Whispers, but one that can also sum up the series as a whole. True love is worth waiting for... Whether your forever love is someone you just met for the first time or someone you've loved from afar, trust that they will find their way to you when the time is right. That was the story for most of the Seaside couples and that was definitely the case for Mira and Matt. Who knows how their relationship would have played out if they acted on their feelings from the beginning. Yes, it was torture for them to be apart, but it also solidified their bond. That is one of the many things that I love about Melissa's books. There are no outside forces that keep her couples from being together. Once they start dating, they are in it for the long haul. While I do occasionally love a good monkey wrench (mainly for the groveling that inevitably follows), it is refreshing to know that when I get near the end of one of Melissa's romances, there won't be anything stopping her couples from professing their love.

I adored the guys and gals from Seaside Summers and I'm super excited for the new spin-off series next year. Huzzah!

Mira is a single mother of the brilliant Hagen and works with Matt's father at his hardware ...

Matt, your everyday superhero, is home on sabbatical and has some serious life changing career decisions to make. Mira is a single mother of the brilliant Hagen and works with Matt's father at his hardware store.
Matt and Mira both have feelings for each other, but always take Hagen and Matt's career into consideration when they get close to letting their feelings for each other show.
Taking a chance by letting their heart over their heads, this is a great tale of how pursuing our true dreams can be the best thing we do for ourselves and the ones we love.
I love how Foster continues to show that love and family go hand in hand in a prosperous and fruitful relationship, and how much we learn to appreciate the simple things when we take time to slow down and take a break from the everyday routine.

Melissa Foster has proved that love at first sight is is real!

Melissa Foster has proved that love at first sight is is real!

Matt Lacroux has a life at Princeton, although his life revolves around teaching and writing. Mira Savage is a single mom, raising her brilliant son and working in Matt's family's hardware store.

Matt and Mira met months before, and they can't stop thinking about each other. They've managed a few short dates, but they both want more.

When Matt takes a sabbatical and comes to Seaside they finally have the chance to have the relationship they deserve. However, Mira's life is in Seaside and Matt's is in Princeton. Can they make their relationship work? Or will they all wind up with broken hearts?

This book is a wonderful addition to the Seaside stories. It can completely be read alone, but it's so neat to watch couples from previous books grow in their friendships and relationships. That's my favorite part of Mrs. Foster's books...how the books weave together to make an amazing series.

I received this book through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.

Love knows no time, and certainly hits you at first sight!

Seaside Whispers is a beautiful read which keeps its pace throughout the book, its a story about love and acceptance and a story about a how one can love without caring about what the other would call "excess baggage".

I believe Melissa has written a truly amazing book, with a few funny parts coming from the Seaside gang who make an appearance and then assist with the couple.

Well done Melissa, and Happy Reading to you all, if you are a fan of her work you will love this book, and if your new I say what are you waiting, for start reading!!!!

A naughty professor and a sexy momma!

This is another excellent audio book written by Melissa Foster and performed by B.J. Harrison. I don't know how she does it after writing so many books, but Ms. Foster always comes up with fresh characters and story lines. The love feels real, the sex is hot and the children are just so darn adorable!
If you ask me, Mira's six year old, highly intelligent son steals the spotlight in this book. I raised three gifted sons, so maybe that's why I found him stealing my heart.
The concept of the female character, Mira, almost being a part of Matt's family already added a little something extra to the story. Matt was super sexy, maybe because he made it a point to tell Mira that he desired her, extra baby weight, etc., included. That's a real turn on. Yep! And then there's the glasses that just turned Mira inside out when Matt wore them! Naughty professor, indeed.
Loved it all!

Loved the latest Seaside Installment, can't wait for more!

5 Stars

Seaside Whispers is the eighth title in the Seaside Summers Series, and it is a really heartwarming read. I found the characters to be incredibly endearing, and I adored Matt and Mira's story. Although this title can be read as a standalone, I was quite familiar with the hero and heroine as well as many other characters having read several of the previous titles in this series.

Matt's an academic, a professor, very serious, goal orientated and focused. A sabbatical provides Matt with the chance to explore the connection he feels with Mira. They come from different worlds he's a college professor and Mira is a single parent, living on the cape with her intelligent and precocious little boy Hagan. She's devoted herself to her family and has very little experience with men. The connection between this pair is special and the love scenes are quite hot and steamy as well.

I loved how all the seaside characters made an appearance within this story line. The banter not only between the hero and heroine, but the rest of the Seaside gang, is engaging and entertaining. This story is well paced and well written.

I look forward to the next installment in this series, and hopefully we get Mira's brother's stories as well in the future.

Sexual tension runs rampant

Matt has been offered a chance to leave his comfortable position as a professor and write a book. Write a book? Who could say no to the glamorous life of a published author (and by glamorous I mean never ending deadlines and barely seeing the world outside of their writing zone)? Matt has some decisions to make--and at the epicenter of his turbulent life is Mira.

Mira is a single mom, who works for Matt's father. Could he find a more "off-limits" person to add to his life? Is she worth the risk? Melisa Foster has expertly continued the Seaside series with Matt's story. The final sibling is ready to take that leap of faith. Can Mira jump with him? Should she?

I really enjoyed the final chapter in this series. It felt like a solid ending, albeit slightly predictable (but what romance novel is not?)
