Sweet Little Lies (Angel Sands)

This is book 3 in the Angel Sands series and it's Brooke's story. I have been waiting for her story because I've loved her in the first 2 books! Actually, I love all of them! Ally, Ember and Brooke's friendship is the kind we should all be lucky enough to experience in our lifetime! They are so much more then friends, they're family. It was wonderful to watch Ember and Ally find their HEA and I so wanted Brooke to find hers.
The title of this book is extremely fitting to the story. It seemed like Brooke was surrounded by lies. Either from her own doing or lies from the people around her that are suppose to love her. But like all lies, the truth comes out eventually. Brooke was so in love with Aiden when she was a teenager, but they had to sneak around because Aiden was from "the wrong side of town" for the rich, influential Newton family. And Aiden's mother was the Newton's maid who took care of Brooke her whole life. When Brooke's father catches her with Aiden he threatens his mother and runs them out of town. But he lies to Brooke about why they left. Like all lies, she eventually finds out the truth but 10 years later after Aiden comes back to Angel Sands.
Aiden comes back to prove to Angel Sands that he's not a loser from the wrong side of town and to kinda rub it in their faces that he's now very successful. And he runs into the woman he never stopped loving. And fins out she's a single mother to an 8 year old boy. This is where the story starts to take a major twist that I never saw coming!! As they say, "and the plot thickens!" Of course this isn't the only plot twist, but you'll have to read to find this out for yourself.
I will say that at times I felt bad for Brooke with how her parents consistently manipulated her. But then I'd want to slap her for letting them because she felt guilty. I was very proud of her when she finally stood up to them and moved out on her own. I did love watching her and Aiden rekindle their love for each other and how Nick just brought Aiden into the fold like he'd been there all along.
It was a wonderful book with a surprisingly complicated plot that worked beautifully!! Hope that makes sense. Anyway, I highly recommend this book, and this series, to everyone!! Carrie Elks writes books that just suck you in and wish you lived in them!! She's amazing!

I loved Sweet Little Lies. It’s a well written story. Brooke and Aiden are both great multidimensional characters. It was very easy for me to connect with them. There were a couple of twists in the book that were not what I expected and me think “oh wow.” Their story grabbed me and kept me captivated until the very end. Can’t wait for the next book.
