She LOVES to read now!

Perfect for a beginner reader. They are not for "storytelling", but are meant to allow a child to read themselves. The actual story part is secondary to the art of reading by themselves. I have so many books for my 4 year old that we can't even read them all, but as soon as I ordered these to help her read on her own, she fell in love. In a short span of a week, she mastered them all. The language is basic and repetitive, allowing a child to master the words (i.e. "The cubs are sad" "The cubs are hungry" "The cubs are silly" for a few pages, and then a similar pattern with slightly different words for the next few pages--this is not exact language, just an example). I have since ordered "B" books and she's working on those now. Instead of asking to play in the mornings, she wants to "read" during breakfast. She now also recognizes the words she's learned and reads them in other "harder" books. I fully recommend these to any early reader.

Good reads for preschoolers

I started to incorporate this into my daughter's preschool class here in our home. She identified very quickly the key words like ( the, my, he, at, a, and, etc...) She started to read the book by herself very well. They are short sentences therefore is perfect for kids to start reading by themselves. I recommend this product 100 %

Best books for beginner readers!

I absolutely love these books for my daughter who is just learning to read. She just turned 5 years old and these books are very easy for her to read and the vivid pictures help with reading the text which doesn't get her overwhelmed. I can't wait to purchase the next level set!

Poor design perhaps, for reading advancement.

These books are fine and my daughter enjoys them but each book is extremely repetitive and the illustrations give away the only word that's different from page to page. For example: Patty Pigs's Outfit. Patty Pig wears a hat. Patty pig wears a belt. Patty pig wears a dress.... My daughter reads the first page of a book and then looks at the illustration and knows the next word. Probably an oversight but inhibits actual reading.

Great investment

These are great little books for a beginner reader. They are easy enough to read that my daughter can practice on her own or with me.

Reading For Fun? Oh Yes!! Coming Your Way!!!

These are terrific Level A Readers. There is only one sentence per page. There are many sight words and repeating words. The illustrations pop. There are four book series enclosed. Super Chick and Party Pig are two.I
Jen Pen and The Bear Cubs are the other two.
The Super Chick series is Superb. One book shows how he gets ready. The next shows him being a hero. Then it shows in the next book what Super Chick Can Do. He also Flies through a book and the last one introduces your child to Super Pals. I predict you will have a Super Chick running around your house. Enjoy this series. I purchased these books for a friend with preschool and kindergarten kids.
