Wrong Spine Art

I purchased this item based on the spine art everyone else was receiving (the spine should create an image when all books are put together). There was no picture of the spines in the item description so I had to rely on reviews from others. I am HIGHLY dissappointed that it is not what I received. I am trying to make a cohesive collection so this is a very important factor to me.

Good print quality

I love the book series, I've read them twice, working on a third time. The reason why I bought the soft cover set is because I wanted the binding art. The covers have a matte feel to them, they are not glossy and the print quality is nice. I also have the mortal instruments set, and they are glossy, and compared to the mortal instruments set, the infernal devices books are taller. Overall the quality is better compared to tmi. Also, it comes in a box, unlike the other series.

UK version

So, I'm a little picky when it comes to books in a series matching. I was disappointed when these books came in as they are the UK edition and therefore don't match my Mortal Instruments which are US. These are shorter, have blue on the spine, and are sepia instead of black and white. Also, I noticed the UK version is just a thin cardboard outer box that could easily be damaged.

UK version

The books are in the UK version published by walker books. I dont understand why they would list the publisher as Margaret K. Mcelderly, the US version. The reason I bought them was because of that. The quality differs by publisher. The books themselves still contain the same story, its just the books spine art is a bit different as well.

Perfect!

Came in pristine condition. Books came exactly as shown in the product picture. Three books within a slip cover box. I know many people complain that they don't receive the same editions as shown in the photo. There's a secret to that. If you want exactly what's shown in the picture, either stick with the original seller that it comes up as, or under the buying options, look for "sold & shipped by Amazon". It will probably be a little more expensive than the rest of the choices but it's worth it if you want to be assured you'll be getting the product image. I hope that helps people out!

Wrong Boxed Set

I ordered this boxed set twice from two different sellers and both times I received the UK boxed set, not the US boxed set that is pictured on the product page... The UK boxed set has smaller books with a blue box on the spine that covers part of the art.

A fun series to read!

I bought this set for my friend for her birthday. I've been a huge Cassandra Clare fan for years now, and I'm glad to pass on the fun to a good friend. The stories are a prequel to her popular Shadowhunter series: The Mortal Instruments, and it's a lot of fun. It's fast paced, with equally engaging characters whom you'll remember into the next series. I can't wait to share the Dark Artifices next!

Absolutely love this series

I am a huge Cassandra Clare fan and this series is fantastic. Think of it as the original Shadowhunters series as you learn the story of Jem Carstairs, Tessa Gray and Will Herondale. It takes place in 19th cent. London and the author really immerses you into the setting in a way that makes you not think it is a period novel, but that you are there. Awesome action, great characters and a beautiful love story (love of partners and friends). I totally recommend reading this series before the Mortal Instruments books, so you get that background when the characters are referenced.
