We all enjoyed it 😆
My 11 year old still loves Bad Kitty- and well we the parents do too. The title alone made us excited to read it since we knew it would mean some drama with Kitty. We had her read it aloud to us and we honestly were all laughing. It's really cute and creative. It approaches challenges and precautions relevant to phones/internet/social media these days. Such as how people often talk like they wouldn't face to face- like with cyberbullying and trolling. It's all done in such a cute, funny way that I feel is effective and could help teach the reader about such things. He even managed to cleverly add some math practice in a couple spots 👏
It was an easy read for with a few tricky words. The pictures are funny and catchy- as usual with BK books- and it was enjoyable in the graphic comic style. This book is up-there as one of our favorite in the BK series. We feel it was well-worth the purchase 😊

A Smartphone Public Service Announcement with Bad Kitty Humor
As you may have guessed, Bad Kitty is obsessed with her smart phone in the latest from Nick Bruel.
As a full color book, the images really pop and my kids laughed out loud at some of the latest antics.
Bad Kitty's chores to earn a smart phone are framed as Herculean tasks, and Kitty is redrawn as an epic hero contending with the whims of fickle gods (her owners), who want her to clean up her toys, food bowl, and litter box, for instance.
The build-up to getting the phone is very entertaining.
Afterwards, Bad Kitty becomes addicted to various apps, like a violent game: dragon eating farmers for money. Or a video streaming app, like YouTube, which my kids laughed at the silliness of, particularly when Bad Kitty made her own video. Social media and app games of the regular variety also come up.
Uncle Murray's fun facts deal defining facts vs. opinions, and hint at avoiding misinformation without wading into that too much.
The book also discusses that online bullying is not ok. My kids attention sometimes wandered during the more instructive sections, but it was still engaging for them overall.
If you don't want any sort of lesson in kids books, then maybe this isn't for you.
But the lessons are pretty benign: don't be addicted to your phone, don't bully, maybe use the phone to be in touch with friends instead of random strangers online.
My kids said it was "funny and dramatic" and they liked it.

I mean, it’s Bad Kitty. Of course it’s good!
My seven-year-old thought this was hilarious, as did I. My teenager said it was lame, too preachy, and anti-technology. Which is why I like it…

Another great chapter book!
We have been fans of Kitty ever since we discovered the first book at a library. Now that our kids are pre-teens/teens, while we still appreciate the picture books, we often reference and even re-read the chapter books together. A new book is always a treat, and this one is excellent. Great way to approach online safety and start a conversation with your kids about what is or isn't appropriate, while also having a laugh at Kitty's antics.

3rd grader approved
My 3rd grader saw these book series at the bookstore and wanted the phone kitty one so badly and it was a good deal compared to the bookstore. It’s really funny and pretty much the style that 3rd graders nowadays like. It was worth it.

Another great Bad Kitty Book!
My great-grandsons and I have always loved the Bad Kitty books. We can't wait to get the next new one that come out! I guess we relate them to our own "bad kitty." The stories are funny, the Uncle Murray's Fun Facts are always interesting, and the illustrations are terrific...a great way to teach them to observe the pictures and not just read the words, & note what the character might be feeling. This one was great, as it explained some of the various trials of having a cell phone...especially for children. It was also timely because my one great-grandson had just got his first phone. The author was right on & nailed a couple of issues, all while keeping the story funny and teachable. I HIGHLY recommend this book!

All these Bad Kitty books are fantastic
My daughter can't put them down, she's read all of them multiple times. Great that they're in color now! It's at the perfect reading level for grade 2 or 3, not too easy but not too difficult. Lots of pictures to keep them entertained and the stories are always funny.
