NCLEX-RN Content Review Guide (Kaplan Test Prep)

Holy, the exam wasn't easy but I finally passed! This book certainly prepared me well as I didn't want to pay for any classes. Glad I'm done, what a relief!

I purchased this Kaplan review book in September to begin reviewing content for my NCLEX-RN scheduled for October. I purchased the online question bank and an ebook version of this book came with that subscription. I began reading the online version, however, the adobe system required to read this book was slow and not conducive for quick referencing. It was not user friendly but because I was utilizing the Kaplan question banks to study, I decided to order the hard copy for my content review. It is brief and has the information organized in a really systematic way. The reason why I did not rate this book a 4 or a 5 is because there were too many typos to make it worth any money. I expect more from a company such as Kaplan. It is unacceptable and extremely distracting to have 3 words combined and be forced to translate the meaning. Another downfall of this book is that it did not have many images for visual learners. The content was concise and it was well organized, but again, I paid a lot of money for kaplan and it is unacceptable to have typos every other page.

Book is amazing and brand new! Still very crisp pages and perfect condition. The content is amazing, and it takes what is in every MedSurg book and thins it out, so you're not digging through pages and pages of material. Very happy with my purchase. Highly recommended.

Wish I had this going through nursing school. Now that I have been out of school for 2yrs and trying to pass the NCLEX, this has been a great review and study guide.

ISBN 1506214606 (NCLEX-RN Content Review Guide, 5th ed. by Kaplan) is systematic in presenting the practice materials allowing to immerse into reading questions to sufficiently check the preparation for a National Council Licensure Examination for nurses in the United States. The content on its 635 pages is clearly divided into 9 chapters, each subdivided into 1-7 units, and each unit subdivided into multiple topics, which titles are unfortunately not included in the contents. The topics are dense summations in the form of lists of the numbered points on the subject printed in the book. Chapter 1 informs about the NCLEX-RN Examination and Chapter 2 instructs how to use the Kaplan's materials to prepare. Some topics are in tables. Other include also schematics and/or diagrams. After the initial reading, the book can be used for repetitive practicing of all or just of specific subjects, or warming up.

The graphical layout of this book in only black and white is clear, simple, and graphically exemplary. The titles of chapters and numbers of questions/problems are boldfaced, and grasping the pages at 1st glance is easy. Additional materials are included on the companion website. Each topic/element is summed up in several parts appropriate for its subject. Approx. 129 pages of the book are shown by the Amazon.com's "LOOK INSIDE!" function. What cannot be seen is that the book is well printed on thin, but still good paper, though the flimsy soft cover, typical for the Kaplan publications, is prone to creasing and catching fingerprints.

I used the book for N clex with others materials and i pass at the first try 75questuons , it's a good review for the exam such as Hesi Saunders and Uworld.

Not bad. There was a crease on it but overall wasnt bad.
